Overview

Uchal Kalash Festival is one of the top cultural festivals of Pakistan. Kalasha tribe celebrates many festivals around the year. Uchal festival celebration is to pay homage to Almighty for blessing them with good food and crops. They prepare corn, buttermilk, and cheese to celebrate the festival and rejoice Uchao.

Kalash Uchal Festival is celebrated in annual harvesting with singing, dancing and paying homage to the nature for blessing them with barley and wheat harvest season every year in August.

In the festival of Uchal they prepare special foods, cheese, buttermilk and cornbread for the event. Women in traditional dresses perform dances. During the festival prayers, a procession is made to a high plateau outside the village in Balangkuru where the long night of dancing begins. Itinerary

Day-01: Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Day-01: Islamabad and Rawalpindi
Welcome at Islamabad airport, and transfer to hotel, after refreshment proceed for city tour of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which includes famous Faisal Mosque, Shakar Parian, Pakistan monument, Damen Koh, Lok Versa, Museum, Rawalpindi old bazaar, Raja Bazaar.

Day-02: Drive from Islamabad to Swat

Drive to Swat 4-5 hours, en route visit Taxila; which includes Jaulian, Mohra, Moradu and Sirkap and museum

Day-03: Drive from Swat to Kalash Valleys

Drive to Chitral 254 km, after refreshment continue drive to Kalash valleys 60 km, arrive Bomburate and transfer to hotel

Day-04: Kalash- Bomburate

Today we will start exploring the Bomburate Valley. We will visit the local Museum. The Kalasha Graveyard and the Town Centre. Later we will join the mega festival as all the tribes will gather in Bomburate. Enjoy dance, do photography and interact with the Kalasha Tribe and experience this unique culture firsthand

Day-05: Rumbur and Drive to Chitral

Drive to Rambur valley, visit community house, Rumbur village and enjoy Chilam Joshi festival, where men and worm sing and dance. You will interact with local people to exchange their cultural and custom. Enjoy photography and evening drive to Chitral 60 km.

Day-06: Drive from Chitral to Swat

Morning visit Shahi Mosque, Chitral Museum, Chitral Fort, later on drive to Swat 254 km. Arrive Swat and transfer to hotel

Day-07: Drive from Swat to Peshawar

Drive from Swat to Peshawar 195 km, today we visit well preserved monastery of Takhat-e-Bai and continue drive to Peshawar via Malakan Pass.

Day-08: Drive from Peshawar to Islamabad

Morning city tour of Peshawar, which included Bala Hisar fort, Kissa Khani bazaar and Peshawar Museum. Afternoon drive to Islamabad 172 km

Day-09: Fly Home

Transfer to Islamabad airport for return flight
