The Hunza Valley is a mountainous valleysituated north/west of the Hunza River, at an elevation of around 2,500m. The territory of Hunza is about 7,900 square km (3,100sq mi). Aliabad is the main town, while Baltit and Altit are popular tourist destination because of the spectacular scenery of the surrounding mountains.
The people are cheerful, friendly, fair-skinned and blue or green eyes. Almost all speak Burushaski and in upper Hunza, they speak Wakhi.

Itinerary

Day-01: Islamabad and Rawalpindi

Day-01: Islamabad and Rawalpindi
Welcome at Islamabad airport, and transfer to hotel, after refreshment proceed for city tour of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which includes famous Faisal Mosque, Shakar Parian, Pakistan monument, Damen Koh, Lok Versa, Museum, Rawalpindi old bazaar, Raja Bazaar.

Day-02: Drive from Islamabad to Chilas

Drive to Chilas on Karakoram highway 11-12 hours 461 km. Overnight at hotel
Karakorum highway is 8th wonder of the world (KKH) Karakorum highway is the highest paved international road in the world. It connects China and Pakistan across the Karakorum Mountain range, through the Khunjerab Pass, at an elevation of 4,733 m/15,397 ft. It connects China’s Xinjiang region with Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions and also serves as a popular tourist attraction. Due to its high elevation and the difficult conditions in which it was constructed, it is also referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.

Day-03: Drive from Chilas to Karimabad

Drive to Karimabad (Hunza) 5-6 hours 240 km. Overnight at hotel.
En-route stop at junction point of three great mountain ranges meet, The Karakorum, Himalaya and Hindukush, at Thalichi for photography from Nanga Parbat 8,126 m and at Rakaposhi view point for photography and refreshment.

Day-04: Karimabad- Baltit Fort and Altit Fort

Morning visit Baltit Fort 700 Years old and Baltit village, afternoon visit Altit Fort 900 Years old, Altit village and visit the women carpenters project. Evening enjoy water channel walk from Karimabad to towards Hyderabad village.

Day-05: Hopper and Duiker valley

Morning excursion to Hopper valley, visit Hopper glacier and Hopper valley, afternoon drive to Duiker valley thirty minutes arrive and transfer to hotel.
Duiker valley is view point to see the Sunset and Sunrise over the beautiful mountains in the surroundings of Hunza).
Duiker valley called (Roof of the world), have a spectacular view down to Karakorum Highway and awesome views of Golden peak 7027 m, Rakaposhi 7788 m, Ultar Sar 7388 m, Diran Peak 7266 m, Lady Finger 6000 m and Disteghil Sar 7885 m.

Day-06: Duiker- Gulmit and Passu

Drive to Passu 50 km, en-route visit Attabad Lake, arrive and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon visit Borith Lake, Gulkin village, Gulmit village, Passu white Glacier, Passu village, Hussani village and Hussani suspension bridge.

Day-07: Khunjerab Pass and Karimabad

Excursion to Khunjerab Pass (Pak/China Border), evening drive back to Karimabad.
Khunjerab Pass elevation 4,733 m is a high mountain pass in the Karakorum Mountains in a strategic position on the northern border of Pakistan’s Gilgit-Baltistan region and on the southwest border of the Xinjiang region of China. Its name is derived from Wakhi ‘Khun’ means Home and ‘Jerav’ means spring water/water falling. The Khunjerab Pass is the highest paved international border crossing in the world and the highest point on the Karakorum Highway. The road way across the pass was completed in 1982, and has superseded the unpaved Mintaka and Kilik Passes as the primary passage across the Karakorum.

Day-08: Drive from Karimabad to Besham

Drive to Chilas 240 km, after lunch continue drive to Besham on Karakorum highway 200 km

Day-09: Drive from Besham to Islamabad

Drive to Islamabad 6-7 hours 261 km, en-route visit Taxila museum and historical sites.
Taxila: Most of the archaeological sites of Taxila (600 BC to 500 AD) are located around Taxila museum. For over one thousand-year Taxila remained famous as a centre of learning Gandhara art of sculpture, architecture, education, and Buddhism in the days of Buddhist glory. There are over 50 archaeological sites scattered in a radius of 30 km around Taxila. In Taxila visit archaeological sites of Jaulian, Mohra Moradu, and Sirkap. Later visit.
Taxila museum: A museum comprising various sections with rich archaeological finds of Taxila. It is one of the best and well-maintained site museums of Pakistan.
